Kathryn Collier selected as Principal/TOSA for Haines School

Here is a little more about Kathryn “Katy” Collier. She is a Baker City native. Graduating from Baker High School, she spent her undergraduate years at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. Katy’s husband Jake Collier, is a CPA and partner with Guyer and Associates. Katy and Jake’s three children, Avery (Gr. 5), Claire (Gr. 2) and Lane (Gr. 1), attend Haines school.

Katy has spent thirteen years as a teacher in various schools. “I have been fortunate over my career to have educational experiences that have helped me develop a fundamental sense of what constitutes a great school,” says Collier. “High standards for learning and achievement, while essential, don’t come without strong pillars of collaborative leadership, communication, organization, solid support systems, and ingenuity.”

“Having spent many years at Haines, I believe I have developed trust with its students, staff, and parents. I look forward to building a positive school climate, exploring changes to better our PBIS system and dedicating resources and personnel to ensure an efficient, effective RTI program.”
