ATV and Dirt Bike Safety Friday Experience

The ATV safety class is a two-part course. The first class, which meets on Friday, May 25, will address proper ATV/Dirt Bike fit; use of protective equipment; safe, smart, and ethical riding habits; and relevant Oregon ATV laws. Participants will be given an Oregon ATV Safety Rider Guide and will be encouraged to complete the ATV online safety education program. The second class, which meets on Saturday, May 26, will be a hands-on component at Virtue Flats where students will demonstrate the skills they have learned in class on their own ATVs and/or Dirt Bikes. Participants are required to provide their own properly fitted ATV and/or Dirt Bike, helmet, and riding gear.Students who complete the course will receive their ATV license, which is required in the State of Oregon for riders under the age of sixteen. The fee for this course is $20, and it must be paid online before students can take the class.

Where: Friday, May 25 at Baker High School Library; Saturday, May 26 at Virtue Flats

Materials required: Properly fitted ATV and/or dirt bike, helmet, and riding gear

Target ages: 4th grade to 15 years old
